MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT INSURANCE PLANS

Don't Let Medicare Leave You Exposed. Get A Supplement Plan Today

Charleston SC Medigap Plans
Choose the Best Option For You!

As an independent insurance broker representing Palmetto Medicare Health Services, I can offer you a variety of Medigap policies to help supplement your Original Medicare coverage. These policies, sold by private companies, can help pay for some of the health care costs that Medicare doesn't cover, like copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. In some cases, Medigap policies also offer coverage for services not included in Original Medicare, like emergency medical care when you travel outside the United States.

If you have Original Medicare and you purchase a Medigap policy through me, Medicare will pay its share of the Medicare-approved amount for covered health care costs. Then your Medigap policy will pay its share. Palmetto Medicare Health Services offers a variety of Medigap policies to choose from, so I can help you find the coverage that best meets your needs.

A Medigap policy should not be confused with a Medicare Advantage Plan. These plans are ways to get Medicare benefits, while a Medigap policy only supplements your existing Original Medicare benefits. If you have any questions about Medigap policies or would like more information, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'm here to help you get the coverage you need at a price you can afford.

Thanks for considering Palmetto Medicare Health Services.

Medicare Advantage is NOT Your Only Option!

What Are The Benefits To Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Plans?

There are many benefits to Medigap plans. For one, Medigap policies offer comprehensive coverage that can help you pay for many of the out-of-pocket expenses associated with Medicare. In addition, Medigap plans can help you cover the costs of deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments. Lastly, Medigap policies come with many different options, so you can find a plan that best suits your needs.

What Is The Downside To Medicare Supplement?

The downside to Medicare Supplement is that it can be expensive, and sometimes does not cover all the costs of healthcare. Also, some people find that they don't need all the coverage that Medigap offers. Finally, if you have a Medicare Supplement plan and you switch to a different health insurance plan, you may have to give up your Medicare Supplement plan.

Insurance Plans That Aren't Medigap

Some types of insurance aren't Medigap plans, they include:

  • Medicare Advantage Plans (like an HMO, PPO, or Private Fee-for-Service Plan)

  • Medicare Prescription Drug Plans

  • Medicaid

  • Employer or union plans, including the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP)

  • TRICARE

  • Veterans' benefits

  • Long-term care insurance policies

  • Indian Health Service, Tribal, and Urban Indian Health plans

Medigap Policies Don't Cover Everything

Medigap policies generally don't cover long-term care, vision or dental care, hearing aids, eyeglasses, or private-duty nursing.

Does Medicare Supplement Cover Drugs?

No, Medicare Supplement plans do not cover prescription drugs. You will need to enroll in a separate Part D plan to get drug coverage. Charleston, SC residents can find Part D plans by clicking here.

Do Medigap Premiums Increase with Age?

No, your Medigap premiums cannot increase because of your age. The only time your Medigap premiums can increase is if you experience a change in your health that causes you to become a higher-risk applicant, or if there is a general rate increase for all Medigap policies based on factors such as inflation.
